I guess I've only gone to presbytery meetings where the clergy names were all typed up and we signed next to them. I guess I could undersatnd the signing as a minister, because they're representing their church as a minister, not an elder. But the collar? Wierd.
Clerical collars? I can't remember seeing ministers wearing clerical collars to a presbytery meeting--or anywhere else, including church on Sunday.
As for signing up, we have a couple of CLP's whose commission authorizes them to act as the installed pastor of their congregation. In that case I think they do sign in as a minister representative. But those commissions are renewed (or not) regularly and so they don't get to sign in that way once the commission has expired.
