Let them Talk
Pastors learn from listening to their people. When we listen, we learn the issues, the interests and hurts of those we offer ministry. Make listening a goal this year.
We clergy are offered so many books to read about ways to revitalize our congregations, etc etc etc, but they often offer templates that can't be overlaid is many situations. Instead, I've been saying that if I were to ever write a book, I would title it, "Listen to Your Congregation."
We're trying (my new boss and I), maybe for our Lent discipline this year? And we both LOVE to talk, lovelovelove...so we're accountable to each other, with a lot of laughter.

Well said. A good word for all of us.
By the way, my "word for the year" is "Listen."
