The View From the Pew #6 Easter

Aunt Bostick here.

I've got my feet up. Easter Service went just fine. The preacher hollared until his face got red. The Chancel Choir did three special pieces and held in there until Old Dr. Hammer got wheezing. Even then, the sopranos did well except for Lolly Parks who got a hot flash under her choir robe and looked like someone sprayed a hose on her.
By the time we got to the Five Fold Amen, I was ready to go home.

The family came for lunch. I'd gotten the ham out of the oven and put the Splenda into the iced tea when they all drove up in the driveway. The girls helped me put the asparagus, tomato aspic and potato salad on the table. We had Harris-Teeter ice cream for dessert. My coconut from scratch cake days are over until I get this tennis elbow under control.

This is my last post in the "View from the Pew" for my niece. I'm worn out and ready to just watch my soaps while I knit for awhile. I've got a Reader's Digest to get through and I need to finish hemming the downstairs bathroom curtains. Enough is enough.

As St. Casserole said to me this afternoon, "Christ is Risen and the Boat is about to Dock". I know you understand what that means.

Glad to be with you girls.

Thank you for your posts Aunt B! Happy Easter!

I L-O-V-E tomato aspic, but I'm the only one in our household who enjoys it, so I don't often make it. yum.

Aunt Bostick,
I do hope you have some of that good horseradish sauce that accompanies the aspic. I do love me some of that.

Don't be gone for long. And convince St. Cassie to let you go along on the boat to chaperone.

Dear Aunt Bostick,
Thank you for your request to keep any eye on St C., but you know how wiley and clever she is...I will make sure she fills her purse with more than the croissants from the midnight buffet.

From 1-4 Grace who was "left behind."
Hey Deb!Maybe we could get together and sit in lawn chairs and close our eyes and make ocean noises and drink umbrella drinks and just pretend....

Dear Aunt Bostick,
I made tomatoe aspic and carefully followed the recipe from Paula Deen. honest.
But, I either did not make it right or I am just not a Southern Gal like i thougth I was!
It was basically like tomato flavored jello in a rose shaped mold. I am really worried that I am not a good Southern Cook anymore or that I may not even be a Southern Belle now.
I amy go back to bed and not get up for a week. Did I make it wrong, do I need to have aquired taste, or is somethign wrong with my refrigerator?
Hopelessly Confussed(and one state away from you and insainity)

Dear Aunt Bostick,
Please tell your niece that I loved, loved, loved meeting her on the boat, er, ship. You've done a fabulous job teaching her what's what. She's funny and nice and brings great swag to the girls. Plus, she tells a great story. Thanks for sharing her with us.
Love,
Ruby

Aunt Etta Mae,said she knows exactly what you are talking about in terms of putting them feet up. She also said i better never ever ask her to blog for me while I am away, unless I slip her some of that snuff or dip under the table. You were just too kind she said. You two have just got to get together soon, but I reckon you two are traveling anymore.
