Update about FEMA's insistence that ice is a "comfort" item after a hurricane:

"An official reaction to FEMA's no-ice policy came from U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor who referred to FEMA officials as a "bunch of buttheads.", from our local paper.

We love our Congressman Gene Taylor. He's looking out for us. He understands us.

And, he called FEMA a "bunch of buttheads".

Your congressman is smart.

Yup, that sounds about right.

I'm thinking a government that can redefine waterboarding as "not torture" wouldn't have any problem defining ice in a disaster zone as a "comfort item".

But maybe I'm just feeling cranky today.

I like him. He's willing to speak out. How rare.

I have a translation of the FEMA acronym, but it's got a parental-advisory sticker on it.

I think that guy better be re-elected!!!

(True story - when I was teaching, I about fell over when one of the kids rehearsing in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" said her line wrong... instead of "you blockhead, Charlie Brown..." yup. you guessed it. One of those rare moments when I liked teaching!)
