How wild is it to live where the local grocer offers Alligator for $5.99 a lb.?

All we gots here are bears, opossum, and, chicken.

The local newspaper had this as its headlines:

It's the 2nd largest alligator killed in the state. At 715 pounds, that's a heap of alligator meat.

A country roadhouse out from here, mostly known as a good place for crawfish in season, has fried alligator nuggets as an appetizer. The menu describes them as "a small bite of something that would TAKE A BIG BITE OF YOU!" No, I haven't tried them. Yet.
