From the local newspaper

The Sun Herald 02/17/2006 KATRINA'S DEAD
I've noticed that you, my dear bloggy pals, do not read postings like this one where I refer to our local newspaper. You may want to read this series about Katrina's casualties. The reporter, Joshua Norman, writes gently about our losses.

He writes very tenderly.
Please don't think we don't read the links. Sometimes it's just hard to know what to say.

Thank you for helping me to move beyond the numbers to the people behind them.

And, I echo what Songbird says about reading vs. commenting. I'll try to leave a stone everytime I read so that you know I was there.

A great article that hopefully will convince people to get out of the way of these storms in the future. "Camille killed more people in 2005 than Katrina"--what a profound statement.

Keep reminding people about the losses on the south Mississippi coast--it seems that all the media cares about is New Orleans.

May each of them rest in peace and rise in glory.
This did indeed bring the reality closer to us all...
