Why I Need Spring Break More than These People

1. I am tired of living in the Hurricane Disaster Relief Area.

2. I need a pedicure.

3. I had surgery and have pushed myself ever since.

4. I am tired of loading the dishwasher, daily chores and cleaning cat litter.

5. I am tired of returning phone calls and making phone calls.

6. I've never been to Paris.

7. My attitude is sour.

8. I'm sick of injustice here and around the world.

9. The fire ants are busy and on my nerves.

10. These kids haven't done anything but read good books, listen to lectures by educated teachers and stayed up late doing God-Knows-What. They don't need Spring Break, I do.

Wound pretty tight,

St. Casserole

I would invite you to come here, but it really isn't spring yet. That doesn't happen until May when the lilacs are in bloom. Then it feels like spring in New England.
But of course we will be in Atlanta then, and it doesn't help meet the immediate need. For that, I think a trip to Paris sounds like the best idea ever.

I echo what my sisters here have said.

I love you.

Find a way to get to Paris.

What about a little trip to the Houston area? I've got two spare bedrooms...and the azaleas are in bloom.

...or DC. Then we can dandle the revbaby on our knees, see the cherry blossoms in bloom, growl at members of Congress, and eat great ethnic food...the guest bed awaits.

Now I have this swirling in my brain:

Every time I look down on this timeless town
Whether blue or gray be her skies.
Whether loud be her cheers or soft be her tears,
More and more do I realize:

I love paris in the springtime.
I love paris in the fall.
I love paris in the winter when it drizzles,
I love paris in the summer when it sizzles.

I love paris every moment,
Every moment of the year.
I love paris, why, oh why do I love paris?
Because my love is near.

Oh St. C. do take care of yourself, especially since you've recently had surgery. The body needs time to heal.

I hope you get to Paris.

The body needs time and the mind needs time. Come to Houston. Stay with us.

You need some serious R&R to renew your spirit, too. Tell Whistle and Fish not to be too bad and give you a break.

Let some others help--how is the flock doing? Do you need more assistance? Do you need more clothing, shelter, materials to rebuild?

Take care of yourself so you can take care of others. It is so hard to do.

There's always Paris, Michigan.;-) They even have a little festival, Springtime in Paris. But it's not quite the same.
