Hope

"Our hope is in the Lord who made heaven and earth... "

Tell me again, where is your hope? Hope is best when shared, so what fills you with hope?

What makes you hope-full? What and who reminds you of hope?

Thanks,

St. Casserole

St. Casserole, I hope others will post about their hopes. After a day like today, my hopes are not very hopeful. I want to go to Lake Wobegon.

I love asking others this question, and always have a difficult time answering it myself. However, for you....
Today my hope came from:
... The tears in a grown man's eyes as he talked about his mother who was sleeping in the hospital bed
... Hearing laughter from other staff folks in the church building
... Being able to assist someone when they called
... Looking forward to a dinner witih friends on Saturday
... Reading beautiful posts from wonderful bloggers!

My children, unexpected affirmations, new friends made at this middle era of my life, and the special comments of my TV boyfriend, Keith Olbermann, one of the few people in the media speaking truth to power these days.

Hope today comes from...
Children and young people, both my own and those within the church family
The sunflowers that bloomed despite my husband declaring them indisputably dead
The way Bach opens windows onto heaven
The courage and creativity of so many people I encounter, irl and on the net
The realisation that things do change and improve, even in areas that I'd presumed well and truly "stuck".

The students I see each day, who are taking a bold step to expand their lives and their worlds. They do not know it, but they are preparing to change their young lives more than they can imagine, through study abroad.

I had two just today, whose first-choice programs didn't work out (no fault of theirs) and who cheerfully looked at other options. As I told them, flexibility is the key!

Makes it all worthwhile.

Well doggone it St. Casserole, a good question. My hope comes from the Lord, who shows me hope in so many ways, my kids, my hubby, the little signs at my church of turning, and shows me the hope of Jesus inside of me, and you and others.
