All day long, I heard people talking:

my son waking up angry and loud
my husband talking
the Church School class talking
the visitor who got tangled up when he realized I was the Preacher not the pianist
the sound of my voice as I preached from a full manuscript
my daughter snapping an answer at me
the sounds on Weekend Edition NPR of women musicians from Detroit with their raspy voices
the woman at the Bookstore saying to her man, "No! I'm not buying a comic book for you, not for a 25 year old man!"

Enough,

St. Casserole

Sounds like a tough re-entry, I'm sorry to hear it. Prayers for peace and quiet.

She really should have bought him the comic book.

Sorry that it was yak yak yak.

I sure do hate that noise overload thing. Sounds gross.

Hoping that you get to hear some crickets and birdsong today, with no one yapping.

He could want a lot worse things than a comic book. She should lighten up, I think.

I read this and keep hearing my mother's voice, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." That rule should especially apply on the Lord's Day.

But then the world's noisy pain doesn't go away just because it's Sunday. (hugs)

this week may you blessed to find & enjoy the sounds of silence...

and in a desperate pinch General Foods International Coffees (as their old commericials claim) really do give a few moments to sip & enjoy & just be... I recommend the Orange Cappucino.

love the last thing you heard... yes sometimes there's just a little too much noise, from EVERYWHERE. Hope you get to hear the still small voice as well.
