Why I Live Here

I live here because:

Mr. C. grew up here. I crack up every time I hear one of his old friends call him by his childhood nickname.

Women dress up cement goose statues with Lil costumes. They compete over whose goose has the cutest outfit.

Our children learned to sail here.

I can see the Gulf of Mexico everyday.

All parts of this community need good, insightful, honest help to improve.

I grow tropical plants, almost year round.

I can smell salt air when I step outside. I hear seagulls sing often enough that I don't notice them. Pelicans fly in formation overhead.

This state has the worst health and education statistics in the nation. As I said, every area of the community needs help. We don't run out of necessary things to do.

Mr. C. lives here.

Just thinking about my blessings,

St. Casserole

I love the place where you live because you live there.

What a wonderful perspective! (And I love the image of those cement goose statues wearing costumes!)

My brother-in-law and his family are moving to your fair state later this summer, (albeit farther north). I'll have to send them this list.

Those are all very, very good reasons.

Glad you are blessed...

Good reasons to live here...mine are similar.

I really, really love the tropical plants all year.

One of my personal favorite reasons to live here is that I hate to shovel my precipitation and I never have to blow dry open my car lock.

Beautiful reflection, thank you ... and I know there are many who would agree with Songbird and Princess of Everything!

There's a mystery author whose lead character has a mother who decorates a lawn goose. Can't think of who the author is though... anyhow it's a good reminder for each of us to make a list & count our blessings!

Love this list!
I also love living here because sweet people who had been strangers moments ago are now dear friends who jump to welcome you into their homes and hearts. Also, they serve hot sauce with every meal!
On my way back south today.....
