Caught on Canvas

This Norman Rockwell-esque pic is making the rounds on the 'net.

Actually...I know these people. This is their Thanksgiving meal from 2004. They're in a FEMA trailer this year.

Do all of y'all think we look and behave like this?

Discuss among yourselves.

Oh, please. On Thanksgiving? Nobody, but nobody puts the Bud can on the table on Thanksgiving. That is the one day of the year when real glass comes out. Sheesh.

I hope Mama bought the original recipe instead of the extra crispy. I have to go find my halter top now.

good grief! No, law! St Cassie would be wearing something fabulous from Talbot's, have her hair done up all nice, and be wearing yummy nail polish! mr st.c. would have on a bow tie (don't all southerners wear bow ties?) and whistle and fish would be seated nicely, with NO paws on the table, wearing pretty (macho pretty) collars with fresh greenies breath! The college boy, however, would be absent from the picture, because he would be buried under the mounds of laundry he brought home.

The hounds are under the table munching on the pork rinds they snitched while no one was looking.
At least a couple of beers are in glasses - a touch of class.
However, your Thanksgiving may be, be blessed and graced, St. C.

I'm not buying it. Wouldn't it be a fried turkey done up special at some place like Popeye's Chicken instead of KFC?

Happy Thanksgiving, St. C. Hope you have a good one.

1st of all - (o) - did I do that right? I read you ALL THE TIME.
2ndly, I agree with the fried turkey comment, except it would NOT be store-bought, all the guys would have been involved in the various injections and oil temperature debates, with multiple big fry cookers, propane driven, all over the front yard. IT'S HOW IT'S DONE, PEOPLE!
Happy Thanksgiving.

Hats on at the table? Not in my experience of Southerners!

Mmmm, deep fried turkey. Where can I get me some?

Happy delurking!

Now, that's just. not. right.

(shakes head; wonders what the world is coming to)

Happy Thanksgiving to the C. family from the Ps. family!

(And I plead the Fifth concerning the provenance of what I will be serving myself; Rosie & Jenny have already decreed that they will have a double portion of kibble, all the Greenies their sensitive little systems can endure, and liberal samplings of the turkey from my plate.)

Oh, and all y'all remember: You ARE what you eat!

Happy Turkey Day!

David, you did the (0) correctly.

Fried turkey is very popular down here. It involves heating up gallons of peanut oil to boiling, dunking a giant cold turkey into the oil. One year, Mr. C. and his pal came close to sending the turkey outta the oil like a mortar round!

Mr. C. would like to wear bow ties but we have to hold down our quirkiness to live among our friends in this community.

Thanks for all the comments! Makes me feel very good!
