Grace and peace to you. Our Advent candles are ready for Sunday. Mr. C. and I travel to Another State for a Church Anniversary. I served Another State Church as a young Revgal. I'm invited to preach the Children's Sermon for Sunday. Saturday, I'll be sharing memories of my time at ASC.

Yesterday was in the mid-70's. Today we have the 40's. No wonder everyone is sniffly.

At a called meeting yesterday, my "group" voted to ignore the Constitution of our denomination unless it suited us. I registered my name against such a vote. We approved a document full of the word "trust" but we don't mean it. I believe "disingenuous" is the correct assessment of our actions.

Again, may you find the blessing of living between the Promise and Fulfillment.

Feeling rather lonely,

St. Casserole

I'm sorry you're feeling lonely, but certainly understand why.

I hope the celebration at Another State is a fun one.

Sweetie, you would fit right in around here. Why, again, do we live so far apart?

Oh dear. Presbytery has just been oh-so-much-fun for you lately, hasn't it? We are facing some yucky stuff next week at our Presbyterian meeting, too.

The overture in our presbytery (the "shall" means "shall" except with regard to property overture that has been going around) passed. I suggested that perhaps some of us who felt pushed out should leave the presbytery and join another one just up the road that was a little more hospitable. Of course, this presbytery is really disfunctional. I have never been in such a disorganized and divisive presbytery before. Of course, I haven't been in a southern church since before reunion which was the one I grew up in (which seems to have become a confessing church--I'm sure no one really knows what that means except a few zealots).

I was curious to see what this was about and checking a couple of presby websites found the overture posted on the Layman. No doubt it will be on presbyweb tomorrow. Pretty stout stuff--I'd expect a reaction from L'ville. No wonder you were dismayed.
